International Youth Day was celebrated by the students of Rayat-Bahra Ropar Campus with great zeal and fervor. A mass cleanliness drive was organized in the vicinity of nearby Prem Nagar Village in succession to various in house seminars and workshops on "Swachhta Mission". Dynamic youngsters participated in this cleanliness drive in a large number.
NSS Volunteers along with staff members went down the lanes of village, cleaned roads, premises of school, playground under Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan.
Dr. Suresh Seth, Campus Director, Rayat-Bahra Ropar Campus while addressing the gathering of villagers and school students motivated them to maintain cleanliness around their houses and school compound and also said that they should through the garbage in bins rather than dumping them in public places. He de-motivated them for open defecation and further told them to de-silt ponds of the village to eradicate water-borne diseases. He further endorsed that if we remain committed towards this campaign that day is not far that all the countries of world will appear clean, green and healthy.
Dr. Ajay Goyal, Joint Campus Director, Rayat-Bahra Ropar Campus in his address discussed about the healthy habits like washing hands after meals etc. is the only mool-mantra for a healthy life. He said India is in the hands of dynamic youngsters and only they can help in making India Clean & Green by devoting few hours of a week in voluntary activities of cleanliness.
NSS Volunteers along with villagers took Swachhta Pledge to keep their surroundings clean to mark the occasion.
