  • TEEJ Celebration at Rayat-Bahra Ropar Campus

    Festivity and vibrancy was witnessed in the green grounds of Rayat-Bahra Ropar campus as the festival of Teej was celebrated here today. Since Teej is known as the festival of daughters, Rayat-Bahra Ropar Campus threw a celebration for the fresh disciples giving them a feeling of home away from home and ensuring that no one is homesick. Rangoli and mehndi competitions were also organized.

    Dr. Suresh Seth, Campus Director, Rayat-Bahra Ropar Campus while addressing the students described the significance of the festival.He said Teej is celebrated to mark the arrival of monsoon after a season of oppressive heat. "Teej" literally is a small red insect that comes out of the soil during rainy season. Teej is also devoted to Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati. He said modern India keeps girls at par with boys and they should work with dedication to shine like stars.

    Dr. Ajay Goyal,Joint Campus Director,Rayat-Bahra Ropar Campus said that one should enjoy all festivals irrespective of gender. He said he was happy to see male students participating in Rangoli competition which actually shows gender equality in today's scenario.

    Awards were given to winners of Rangoli and Mehndi competition. Students danced on tunes of music.
