Rayat-Bahra Ropar Campus organized a seminar on emerging opportunities and ways to tap them with a title "Future is calling: Are we ready". Adv. Ekant Aggarwal, Executive Director, Startup Accelerator Chamber of Commerce (SACC) was the guest speaker on the event. Dr. Suresh Seth, Campus-Director of Rayat-Bahra Ropar Campus, Dr. Ajay Goyal, Director of RIET and Dr. Monika Sharma, Principal of Rayat College of Law welcomed the guests. Dr. Suresh Seth while delivering the welcome address highlighted the need to inculcate values of entrepreneurship among the students and explained the context of the seminar. He pointed out that people of Punjab are born entrepreneurs. However, in the absence of rights values and direction the youth of Punjab is passing through a phase of uncertainty.
Adv. Ekant Aggarwal, a seasoned professional and an entrepreneur, is an alumnus of Rayat College of Law, Rayat-Bahra Ropar Campus. He is the founder and CEO of Ekant Associates, a leading law firm. He is an accomplished advocate with a history of promoting effective legal, finance and business solutions that foster sustainable corporate growth for domestic and international business operations. Before joining SACC India, Mr. Ekant has also served the Global entrepreneurial organization, TIE (The Indus Entrepreneurs) Chandigarh Chapter as its Associate Director for Chandigarh and Punjab Chapter, for nearly 2 years. In less than 5 years he has mentored over 300 entrepreneurs and companies. The speaker gave his reflections on entrepreneurship and challenges faced by budding entrepreneurs and professionals. He advised the students to create values in others' life and grow along with others. He said that in order to succeed as an entrepreneur one has to make people dependent on oneself. While sharing his experience as an entrepreneur he added that one has to be alert enough to provide quick solutions to problems. He further advised the students to identify their strengths and weaknesses and work smart to improve them. He exhorted the students to be a job creator instead of job seeker. The event was very interactive as the speaker engaged the students with help of various creative exercises and shared many innovative ideas with them. Students were also encouraged to think out of the box. In the end the speaker addressed the queries of the students. The participants were enthralled to have such an interactive career oriented session. Dr. Suresh Seth informed that a dedicated Centre for the promotion of 'Start-ups' shall be launched soon in the Rayat-Bahra Ropar Campus.
